A report from the US State Department says Zimbabwe is one of the countries that could be stopped from entering the US for the summit.

The meeting is called the United Nations General Assembly. It will start on Tuesday, September 23, and end on Monday, September 29. This is the 80th edition of the UN meeting. The theme this year is “Better Together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights.”

Zimbabwe is not the only country that might be blocked. Iran, Sudan, and Brazil are also on the list. This is not the first time the US has done something like this. In 1988, the US government stopped Yasser Arafat, the leader of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation, from coming to New York for a UN meeting. But this time it is worse.

The US is now stopping the whole Palestinian group from coming. This includes President Mahmoud Abbas and his team. They were supposed to attend an important meeting where many countries were going to talk about recognising Palestine as a state. The UK, France, Canada, Australia and others were ready to support Palestine if it met certain conditions. This move made Israel very angry.

This new ban by the US is something that has never happened in the history of the United Nations. The US has always hosted the UN meetings in New York, but now it is using that power to block countries it does not like. Many people around the world are not happy about this.

A European leader, Per Clausen, who is a Danish Member of the European Parliament, said Europe must stand up to this. He said the United Nations meeting should be moved to Geneva in Switzerland. He said this would help make sure all countries can be represented and that it would send a strong message to President Trump.

Zimbabwe’s government has not yet said anything about the possible ban. But this is a big embarrassment. Under ZANU PF, Zimbabwe has become known for human rights abuses, corruption and bad governance. The fact that our country is being grouped with countries like Iran and Sudan should worry every Zimbabwean.

This is what happens when a country has bad leaders. Instead of being respected at world meetings, we are now being blocked. The people in ZANU PF have destroyed Zimbabwe’s image. Now we are being punished on the world stage.

This is not about Trump only. This is about the way Zimbabwe is seen by the rest of the world. When you have stolen elections, abused people’s rights, and destroyed the economy, the world sees that. And they act. Now we might not even be allowed to attend one of the biggest global meetings.

The people who suffer the most are ordinary Zimbabweans. They are not the ones who stole money. They are not the ones who abuse power. But they are the ones who pay the price when Zimbabwe is isolated like this.

We must not be quiet. Zimbabweans must speak out. We must demand better leadership. We must say no to ZANU PF. We must stop voting for people who destroy our name.

If we had a better government, Zimbabwe would not be in this situation. We could attend any world event with pride. But under ZANU PF, we are now part of the blacklist.

This is not just about Trump. This is about what happens when we allow bad leaders to run our country. It is time to stand up. It is time to fight for a better Zimbabwe. One where our flag is welcomed, not banned. One where we are part of the global family, not left outside the door.

United States President Donald Trump might block Zimbabwe from attending a big United Nations meeting…

[4,2

post-690","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-opinion-cat","category-politics-cat
["GET
