MNANGAGWA’S 2030 POWER PLOT EXPOSED

President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his allies in ZANU PF are again working on a new plan to stay in power beyond his second term, which ends in 2028. Even though the noise about who will take over in 2030 has gone quiet, the real fight is still going on behind closed doors.
Mnangagwa’s friends in the party are preparing to push another resolution at the next ZANU PF conference in Mutare, which will run from 13 to 18 October. This time, they want the constitution to be changed to allow Mnangagwa to stay in power until 2030 or even longer. This comes after they succeeded in passing a resolution last year at the Bulawayo conference, giving him the option to extend his rule to 2030. Now they want to go one step further and make sure the law is changed to support that.
Before the politburo meeting on 2 July, the party gave Patrick Chinamasa and Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi the job of finding ways to turn the 2023 resolution into law. Even though Chinamasa was first against the idea, he now supports it because he is close to businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei, who also wants more power inside the party. Tagwirei is aiming for a seat in the Central Committee, and he is one of Mnangagwa’s strongest supporters.
Even though Mnangagwa claims he does not want to go beyond his two terms, his allies are clearly doing everything they can to help him stay. They act like they are doing it on their own, but they would not be doing it without his silent support.
The strangest part is that Mnangagwa came to power through a coup in 2017, and now he is trying to stop Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga, the very person who helped him rise to power, from taking over. Mnangagwa now wants to hand over power to someone else he chooses, not Chiwenga.
Local Government Minister Daniel Garwe recently told the media that there will be no elections in 2028. He says elections will only happen in 2030, and that the Mutare conference will make sure the constitution is changed to make this happen. But the constitution of Zimbabwe clearly says elections must be held every five years. Delaying elections is unconstitutional.
Garwe also said all ten ZANU PF provinces will support the idea to push elections to 2030. It’s clear that ZANU PF is trying to avoid a national vote on changing presidential term limits. They are scared of a referendum because people might vote against Mnangagwa and the party.
Instead of changing term limits directly, which needs a public vote, they want to use Parliament to delay elections. But many legal experts say this is a clear attack on the constitution. It is like another silent coup.
This whole plan will be discussed at the Mutare conference at the Polytechnic College. Mnangagwa’s inner circle is working hard to make sure he continues as party leader and president beyond 2028.
Even though Mnangagwa keeps saying he will follow the constitution, the actions of his team say something very different. His supporters say they want him to stay because of his “God-ordained vision” for 2030 and beyond. But the truth is, they are afraid of losing power. They fear what could happen if Chiwenga takes over or if a new election brings someone new into State House.
This is not about the people. It is not about progress. It is about greed, fear, and the hunger for power. ZANU PF leaders want to change the rules so they can keep eating while the people continue to suffer. The voices calling for Mnangagwa to step down when his term ends must get louder.
This is our country. We must not let the constitution be broken just to satisfy one man’s ambition. Power must return to the people. And the time to fight for it is now.
People must stop believing everything they read online. There is no plan to delay elections — these are just lies pushed by anti-government activists. ZANU PF remains a democratic party, and all decisions go through proper structures. The president’s focus is on Vision 2030, not on extending his term illegally. This is typical opposition propaganda. When ZANU PF focuses on progress, building roads and industries, the opposition only talks about conspiracies. The writer should focus on solutions instead of creating divisions. The president has brought stability and deserves support, not endless accusations
This is just another attempt by the opposition to create panic. President Mnangagwa has already said he will follow the constitution. The talk about 2030 is being exaggerated by people who want to divide the party and discredit our leadership. Let the president finish his vision for development before judging him unfairly.
This is the clearest warning yet. What started as ‘2030 ndeya ED’ is now turning into a plan to kill elections altogether. The people must resist this. The constitution belongs to citizens, not to a few men in Mutare. Thank you for shedding light on this illegal and shameful plot
Powerful piece. Every paragraph reveals how ZANU PF operates — quietly, strategically, and always for self-preservation. What Mnangagwa and his allies are doing is nothing short of a betrayal of the liberation struggle. The constitution must not be twisted to protect greedy politicians. This article speaks for every Zimbabwean who still believes in real democracy.
